Heracles vs Graafschap

After their good performance and really impressive victory at home against AZ Alkmaar before the international break, players of Heracles went on and made another positive surprise winning away from home against Heerenveen 3:5 last Sunday afternoon.
It was surely the most interesting match in the round, as the visitors once again proved that they don't need a lot of ball possession and chances created in order to score. They were in control over the result and hosts were those who tried to catch up with them, as the guests deservedly secured the three-pointer thanks to two goals from Peterson, one from Dalmau, Duarte, and Osman.
The side now has three victories, a draw, and a defeat, standing at the third position in the league with three points less than second-placed Ajax.
Central defender Robin Propper (5/0) is injured for this one. Other three, Jeff Hardeveld, Sebastian Jakubiak and Joey Konings are anyway long-term absentees without performing in the new season.
Graafschap, on the other side, comes from a 1:2 home defeat against Venlo last Saturday afternoon. They entered pretty poorly into the match and were down in the scoreline already in the sixth minute when the guests to the lead via Susic.
Players of Venlo were far more dominant in the first halftime and doubled up the lead via Post in the 30th minute. They probably even deserved to score a goal more, but have lowered down the tempo in the second being satisfied with the result. Hosts only reduced via Burgzorg in the 89th minute.
Graafschap now has no victory in last four matches, being just above the relegation zone with four points earned so far. Central defender Ted van de Pavert (4/0) is injured. Same as defenders Lars Nieuwpoort, Jurre Vreman and midfielder Liban Abdulahi. Defender Myenty Abena and forward Furdjel Narsingh (3/0) are doubtful for now, due illness and leg injury respectively.
There's a certain quality difference between these two teams and everything but an easy victory for Heracles will be a surprise. They are in far better momentum and with bigger individual quality, while the visiting side seems simply too passive on the road in order to match up the opponent in this one.

Genk vs Malmo

Genk will host this Europa League group opener with a fantastic run. It is a team without a single loss in four months, dating back to May when Standard Liege won with 5-0. That being said, it is now 22 matches without a loss across all competitions plus friendlies. Moreover, Genk can be considered as the best offensive team that Belgium can offer at the moment. They are coached by 44 year old Philippe Clement who holds a 23-8-7 record with Gent. It is a young and explosive team who had an average age of 24 years in the victory against Anderlecht at home (1-0) in the previous weekend. Alejandro Pozuelo is the creative mind on the midfield, but also Leandro Trossard and Mbwana Samatta are enjoying top form.
Malmo are on a similar run with their new coach Uwe Roesler, with an impressive 12-5-0 record and 36-9 in goal difference since they changed coach. This includes Champions League, Europa League and Allsvenskan matches. They are currently on pace to catch up on the poor start in the domestic league and aim for a top three finish which looks highly possible with nine matches left on the season. Malmo have brought in midfielder Anders Christiansen from Gent, forward Marcus Antonsson from Leeds and winger Romain Gall from Sundsvall. This offers a deeper squad which makes Malmo able to rotate in order to combine their competitive situation in Allsvenskan while also being solid in Europa League. They are coming from a 2-3 victory against Ostersunds, where the average age was over 30 years old in the lineup. In other words, there is experience in the Malmo team but also lacking the attacking flair on European level to be considered a real threat in this group.
It should be noted that Malmo have conceded goals as soon as the opponent get more serious in European competitions. Cluj, MOL Vidi and Midtjylland all scored against Malmo and Genk surely belongs to that category as well in terms of quality.
Two very solid teams in great scoring form. The Belgian league is more competitive than the Swedish which might be more tactical and physical, while the Belgian style is more technical and creative. I suspect Malmo will appear passive and want to play with counters and set pieces. Genk might be one of the most underrated home teams in the Western European football leagues at this point. Every single statistic suggest that this will be a high scoring game. I think so too, but I believe more in Genk to hand Malmo their first loss in 17 matches. The offensive ability is too difficult to manage for any Swedish team.

Inter vs Tottenham

Inter is not looking impressive so far in the domestic league. After four rounds played they have only one victory, the title dream is going away with a terrific speed, while having in mind their current form - Champions League duties will be quite a task for them now.
In the most recent game last Saturday afternoon, the team welcomed Parma and were expected to take an easy three-pointer - however, the team succumbed to a 0:1 defeat. It was quite an open game from both teams, with Inter missing much more chances.
However, the visitors were also fighting well and looked maybe even better in the second halftime scoring the only goal via Dimarco in the 79th minute. Inter is now in the second part of the table already with eight points less than first placed Juventus.
Right back Sime Vrsaljko is out. MIdfielder Danilo D'Ambrosio (4/0) and forward Lautaro Martinez (2/0) are both doubtful for this one.
After a great start into the season and three consecutive victories including a win over Manchester United on the road, players of Tottenham suffered two back to back defeats in Premier League.
After their loss to Watford, the side couldn't resist against in-form Liverpool last Saturday afternoon, succumbing to a 1:2 defeat in the end. The Reds were simply better and didn't need much to make concrete chances against the hosts that had more of the ball possession but struggled to find really good chances.
It was completely deserved victory for the Reds, while the hosts only managed to reduce in the second minute of added time via Lamela. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris remains sidelined, as well as offensive midfielder Dele Alli. Defender Juan Foyth recovers from injury, but anyway isn't registered for the Champions League group stage. Midfielder Moussa Sissoko is recovering and the match should come too soon for him.
Inter have seen over 2.5 goals in their last 5 matches against Tottenham.
I'm not sure that Inter has what it takes to match some of the strongest European clubs. They surely now lack some of the experience to match up against the best, while the Spurs do look far better anyway early in the season. Draw can't be excluded, but it would be really huge surprise for me to see the Spurs defeated here.

Beziers vs Metz
Beziers didn't show much in their previous game away from home against Sochaux before the international break and the team was defeated with a narrow 1:0 result.
Their hosts had the ball possession and more concrete chances created, taking the lead in the 27th minute via Daham. They remained to be better and controlled the game, with occasional threatening situations.
This was a second consecutive defeat for Beziers as they also suffered 1:0 defeat away to Paris FC game earlier. The side now stands at the fifteenth position with six points, only one less than playout placed AC Ajaccio.
Metz had a very important game against also in-form Lens last time out in front of own fans. The side walked away with impressive and very steady performance and a three-pointer in a 2:0 victory.
They were better for the entire clash but needs to be said that their task for easier since the guests played with a man less since the 37th minute. Diallo opened up the opponent in the second halftime in the 48th minute, as the hosts remained completely in control and sealed the victory in the fourth minute of added time via Niane.
The team is now leading the table alone, with a point more than second-placed Lorient, but also having played a game less. They already have three victories on the road and surely aims for another one here. Neither of the teams has fresh injury worries.
Beziers have some quality, however, the side doesn't seem to be completely ready for Ligue 2 real clashes. Unfortunately for them, they will be meeting one of the strongest teams in the league and I don't give many chances for them. Metz plays really steadily and has no problems creating nor scoring.

Empoli vs Lazio

Empoli did promote in style in the previous season, however now remains to be seen how will they react in the new environment. So far they left a decent impression, but also the feeling that the team deserved more out of first three rounds.
Their season-opening game was a victory at home over Cagliari, then they suffered quite undeserved defeat away to Genoa 2:1, to see themselves walking with a point in a goalless game away to Chievo before the international break. Overall, they once again had more of the ball possession than their opponents and looked generally better.
Still, as the time progressed they looked like a side which is more satisfied with a point taken. Defender Luca Antonelli (3/0) has a muscle injury and won't perform in next weeks. Central defender Domenico Maietta and left-back Manuel Pasqual are both doubtful for now.
Lazio had a difficult schedule in the first two rounds of Serie A, as the team firstly welcomed Napoli and suffered 1:2 defeat in the first round. They took the lead first, however, couldn't keep up with the visiting side. Second round game was away defeat to Juventus 2:0.
It was a fully deserved loss, while the side finally took their first three-pointer at home against Frosinone in a 1:0 victory in the third round. The only goal was scored in the 49th minute via Alberto, in quite an open game where both teams deserved to score a goal or two more. Overall, a deserved victory for Lazio that created much more, but showed some defensive gaps too.
Left fullback Jordan Lukaku is still injured, as well as central defender Luiz Felipe (1/0). Midfielder Valon Berisha has thigh injury.
Lazio have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 matches against Empoli.
Lazio remains a favorite in this one, however, I don't see an easy game for them here. Empoli did really well in attack and moved the ball and created chances even when they didn't get the score they wanted. Both teams to score in an open game seems like a perfect choice in this one.

Tottenham vs Liverpool

Tottenham had a good entrance into the season with first three victories, however, the things didn't look that bright in their most recent clash when the side visited Watford a weekend before the international break. They were huge favorites and the game came after their victory on the road to Manchester United, however, proved many of their fans to be wrong.
They were better at the start, too much of the ball possession but not really threatening situations created. Still, they took the lead first via an own goal at the start of the second halftime. However, hosts were the ones who moved the ball better later and were much more dangerous in attack. Goals from Deeney and Cathcart in 69th and 76th minute. The side now stands with three points less than leading trio of Liverpool, Chelsea, and Watford.
Kane and Moure should lead their attack in 3-5-2 formation. Goalkeeper Hugo Lloris is out injured, as well as midfielder Dele Alli. Juan Foyth and Vincent Janssen are long-term absentees.
Liverpool, on the other side, couldn't start the season better as the team comes from all four victories in Premier League so far. After victories over West Ham, Crystal Palace and Brighton without a single goal conceded, the Reds had stronger test away to Leicester two weeks ago.
However, they appeared really strong in the first part and decisive to take the victory scoring goals via Mane in 10th and Firmino just before the halftime. Ghezzal reduced to 1:2 in the 63rd minute in the second part that belonged completely to the home side and the final result could have been different on some other day.
Salah, Firmino, and Mane should lead their attack in the 4-3-3 version of the formation. Offensive Adam Lallana is injured, as well as defender Dejan Lovren and midfielder Alex Oxlade Chamberlain. Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has a hand problem, but anyway isn't expected to start.
There have been over 2.5 goals scored in Tottenham's last 5 games (Premier League).
This match comes as a real test for both teams ahead of their Champions League duties next midweek. Tottenham will be looking to improve and impress after their defeat last time out, however, the Reds are stronger each season and it seems like a completely unpredictable game in an aspect of the final winner. However, we should see an entertaining and with both teams approaching in an offensive manner. Goals look like granted here.

Venezia vs Benevento

Venezia was close to promoting in the previous season, ending the journey in semi-finals playoff stage where they were excluded by Palermo. Looking at their squad, something similar is expected this season however it's difficult to see them promoted at the very end.
Anyhow, the season has started with a 1:0 victory at home against Spezia, even though they weren't the better side in that one. Second round match saw them losing 1:0 on the road to Padova. It was a deserved loss against a side that looked far more concrete with the overall ball movement and chances created.
Even though they have three out of possible six points earned, the team didn't look that positive for now. They were a kinda weaker opponent in both of the matches. Their Cup match saw them losing 0:1 at home against Sudtirol which was a huge negative surprise.
Striker Gianluca Litteri is injured. Other than that, they should have no absentees for this one.
Benevento, on the other side, relegated from Serie A previous season and looked like the weakest link in the league for the most of the time. In the end, only twenty-one collected point wasn't enough to keep the position in the first tier of Italian football.
The new season has started with their victories over Udinese on the road (in extra time 1:2) and at home over Imolese in the Italian Cup matches, while they have played only one Serie B match. It was a 3:3 draw at home against Lecce. Their visitors were lucky in that clash and scored three goals inside the first sixty minutes of the game, in the rare chances they had.
However, everything turned for the better in last thirty minutes as Benevento reached a point in the end, thanks to goals from Volta, Ricci, and Coda. Overall, it should have been their complete victory if only they had bit better reactions in the first hour of the game.
During the international break, the side had a 2:1 victory in a friendly against Roma that rotated the squad a lot.
Of course Benevento is not a team from the previous season, but even so, they do look more promising than Venezia. Odds value is sure with the visiting side that has much more potential in attack.

Finland vs Estonia
Finland did a very decent job to get a victory over Hungary in the first round of UEFA Nation's League and now in case they present themselves in a good picture again, they will become one of the favorites to win this group. No doubt that the atmosphere is decent now and that they'll try to use such momentum.
They entered the game against Hungarians really strongly and took the lead already in the seventh minute thanks to a goal from Pukki. The Finnish team continued being better in the first halftime and threatened some more, while they switched to a more defensive approach in second as they were simply satisfied with a result they had.
Comparing to previous few call-ups, they aren't counting at defender Juha Pirinen, midfielder Glen Kamara and forwards Berat Sadik and Tim Vayrynen.
Estonia expectedly suffered defeat to Greece in their first-round game last Saturday evening. The only goal was scored in the fourteenth minute by Fortounis and could be said that the Greeks got what they wanted in this clash without being in need to make a lot of effort.
Still, the visitors were better for the entire game, as they looked like completely in control over everything in the field and could have scored a goal or two more. Fully deserved victory against a side that showed very little positive things overall and has no reason to be satisfied with the level of their performance in this one.
Estonia will miss defender Dmitri Kruglov, Markus Jurgenson, midfielder Mattias Kait here, as well as forward Frank Liivak in comparison to previous few call-ups.
Estonians looked really poor against Greece, especially as the time progressed. Finnish team showed some really decent desire to attack against Hungary and now with their morale boosted, they shouldn't have many problems winning over a side that can do so little in attack to harm the others.

Extremadura UD vs Granada

Extremadura UD is a newly promoted side and as such, it's, of course, their primary target to finish above the relegation season and avoid such struggle if possible. Well, no doubt that the side didn't start in the best possible manner since they took just a point so far in three matches.
It was in their season-opening clash against Oviedo, while the side suffered narrow 1:0 defeat at home against Deportivo La Coruna in the second round. Finally, in the previous round, they suffered 2:0 defeat on the road to Sporting Gijon.
The side looked decent at moments, especially in the early phase of the game, however, were somehow overrun in the last phase where the quality of Gijon was obvious as the hosts sealed the victory with two goals in last twenty minutes of the match. Central defender Borja Garcia (1/0) is injured.
Granada was close to reaching the playoff ticket last season, ending the season with four points behind sixth-placed Numancia. No doubt that their ambitions remained high for this season as well, since the team doesn't look that much weaker in spite of some outgoing transfers.
The side actually looked bit better than the opponents in first two rounds, however only took a point in each game, against Elche away and Lugo at home. Their first victory came in front of own fans against Osasuna last Sunday afternoon with a 2:0 result.
They outplayed the opponent and it was much easier for them already after seven minutes as Ramos brought them into the lead. A victory was sealed thanks to a penalty kick shot by Vadillo in the 62nd minute. No fresh injury worries in the visiting team.
Extremadura UD isn't looking that poor, but they need some more quality and experience to fight at the LaLiga 2 level. Unluckily for them, they are once again awaiting the game against strong side - Granada.
